I would really like to see companies reward existing customers with these types of sales!
Komplete and Guru owner here, would love it if they added incentive to upgrade with these sales, instead it makes me less liable to upgrade when for instance a purchaser can today get Geist for just $25 more than I can upgrade to it.... and NI will hold Komplete 8 upgrade at $199 until two months before Komplete 9 comes out!
I get it, it's all about new customers, existing always gets a "deal" in upgrades, but it still kinda blows.

Yeah unfortunately I'm not a Tractor owner, Komplete here.
Ableton I believe have a 25% sale that covers upgrades, I'm on Live 8 and Suite though, so only a new purchase of M4L is availible to me. So there are a few, just not any for software I own.

Yeah, I almost bit on that Traktor Pro 2 upgrade deal last night! But I checked Traktor's pitch slider (pitched the whole way down) vs Ableton's repitch mode at the same tempo & I didn't think Traktor sounded any better than Ableton. I'm not all that interested in software based scratching at the moment & don't have a traditional turntable-based DJ background, so not sure less prep time would have been worth having another app to switch back & forth to & maintain.
While Ableton is less instantaneous & requires more prep to DJ with than Traktor, I think the results can be better if you put the time into it. There's more creative possibilities with Ableton even though admittedly there is a slight tradeoff in spontaneity in regards to track selection for that. I've also gotten used to DJ'ing with Live and it's idiosyncrasies, so I don't mind the additional prep.
