Eco - M(you)sic and Allure - Kiss From The Past
It's a tie. Both are absolutely astounding trance albums.

Re: Favorite Albums of 2011
Best concert of the year hands down is ISAM. H F S
After half of the album though my ears need a break. Still top notch though.
2010 and 11 are blurred into one in hindsight. I think I've heard more reissues like Pomegranates than brand new ones, but the last I can think of is the Soul Jazz Bossa Nova release...
Other than that more recent garage singles from the likes of Hotflush and similar artists ie Arkist and Mosca.
I'll give an honorable mention to Rapping w/ Paul White, just cuz I love his and Bullions style.

Off the top of my head:
Beastie Boys-Hot Sauce Committee part 2
Primus-Green Naugahyde
Amon Tobin-ISAM
And I'm looking forward to listening to that Shining album. Sounds pretty cool.

Damn I forgot Primus put one out, gotta check it, any comparison to specific older album?
I stopped listening after Tales from the Punchbowl, actually.

I found it sounds like a Primus album that could've been made at any point in their career. Even at times where I got concerned that they were sounding the same as some of their older stuff, it seemed to take a turn towards something original and fresh. I just remember thinking "wow" a lot while listening to it for the first time. Not just Les, but also Larry LaLonde and Jay Lane. All three are locked in. So good.

I love those two as well, but Rapping with Paul White may have been my least favorite of his releases. Not even sure why, to be honest.shadx312 wrote:I'll give an honorable mention to Rapping w/ Paul White, just cuz I love his and Bullions style.

Re: Favorite Albums of 2011
True, maybe since it's more structured to be singles while the others just sound like one organic blob (respectfully)? Btw, he's got a great mix that was on BTS radio you can find, and "Goes to Hollywood" on his 45 with "And Nico" is God.I love those two as well, but Rapping with Paul White may have been my least favorite of his releases. Not even sure why, to be honest.
I still need to check the Shlohmo and Siriusmo albums, also wondering about a recent one-Teebs-Sketches, I think?
