how do you make a copy to a cd that works

Post by floridartist » Thu Dec 22, 2011 1:08 am

Hello everyone, I have finally learned how to make a recording of my song with Live 4, I even saved it, my next step is to learn the right way to copy my song onto a CD, I have made a copy to a CD but it will not work with any of my sterios, it only seems to work on my computer.
Does anyone have step by step instructions on how to copy a Abilton Live 4 recording to a CD
I know I am just a newbie at all the recording stuff, but one has to start somewhere.
thank you
John

Export the song as a 16bit/44.1kHz wav file. Open it in iTunes, and create a new playlist with just that song in it. Right click on the Playlist and choose "Burn Playlist to Disc". Then just make sure you select "audio cd" as the format, and you should be good to go.

Hi folks, I am not just old school, I am very old school, I do not even have an education, todays project for me, it looks like I have to download a itunes program, then I can do the import/export thing, this that and such and such. It also seems I have saved my song to my desktop, but the file is too big to send in emails, Live 4 is my very first recording program, and like I said, one has to start somewhere.

you will want to get a program for converting those .wav files to mp3 (small enough to email)

a free one that can also be your external editor for Live is Audacity, google and dl that i suggest to get you going...

post up if you hit any roadblocks...

I’m convinced the poster is the owner of an early prototype underperforming time machine who was only able to gun it 15 years into the future with a few software bug related stops in between.

I really love your posts, I am getting a real kick out of it, I know you all must be highly experienced recording geeks, and I respect that, I am also glad we can laugh at my totally inexperience in the recording aptitudes, ( is that a word) gee, what is MIDI, sounds like a step up in the recording world, but I think I am doing pretty good, being I wrote my first song, with my guitar, also, played it in front of 200 people, first time I ever played a whole song in front of anyone, and then I won 1st place, then the recording guy said I have this great low voice, he then charged me $100 to record my song in his studio, so then I said to myself, Self, get your own recording stuff and do it yourself, So my new Behringer with all the plugs and stuff came with Live 4, and that is how all this came about, So my 1st studio recording version song is on youtube, with a little slide show I put together of the river I wrote the song about. called, (Keepers of the Santa Fe River ) now I am working on the next winning song, for next years contest. Hope you didn't mind my brief explanation, but that is how this recording stuff came about for me. anyway, beam me up scotty
