I really like the look of the Nektar board, but per MusicRadar:
This confirms that the controller will actually be known as the Panorama P4 (perhaps because it's got four octaves and that there may be larger and/or smaller versions on the way), and that it's expected to have a street price of around $500 when it's released in March.
You can get a lot of synth for $500, not sure if the P4 will be worth the price of admission (and since I don't use Reason, I'd be concerned that the screen—which certainly drives the price up—may be largely useless with the software I do use).

Good move on there part, it's the first class compliant, budget, compact midi controller, with sustain/expression inputs, and a cable for iOS devices...

I was about to go buy a Oxygen-25, but I think I'll wait to see what comes about...

Finally a simple just keys layout thats not bulky. Great for hooking up to things like a Slim Phatty.

Lars and Jonah the LZX guys are way cool. You should see their band play.

From this interview:
I have an ongoing musical project titled Phantastes that I plan to resurrect at some point in the next year.
So maybe I'll have the opportunity to do just that.

I have a hardcore love for making music on Ableton with my Laptop, and I sold a bunch of outboard gear over the years in pursuit of that. When I saw the "Phantastes" a few years back it really changed my perspective on things, especially the analogue vs. software debate.

Ermm, wouldn't you still need a computer between the keyboard and the Slim Phatty (increasing back your bulk) & possibly additional latency? I don't think you could plug the USB straight into the Slim Phatty & have it work correctly, could you?

Arggghh! Why don't they make keyboards with a real midi out jack anymore. There's a serious void in the market for simple midi keyboards that will play hardware synths without a computer. Really nice if it existed would be a battery powered USB only keyboard that you could plug straight into some of these modern hardware synth's USB jacks.
