Re: New song up
I like the hook. It's got a real nice overall sound. Would love to hear vocals on it.
I know it's not finished, but I hope you don't mind me leaving some constructive criticism. I hate people who just leave "nice" comments, 'cos you never learn anything from "nice" comments.
So constructive criticism... my personal opinion is that the hats and cymbals need turning down a bit, its especially noticeable after the drop around 2m 30s but I think they're generally a bit loud throughout. Probably some EQ to kill some of the top end noise would do the trick.
If that track went out over a club system the top end would cause ear bleeding in the crowd
Just my 0.02 cents anyway.

Re: New song up
Agree with the above, nice track but the top end in the second part is a bit much, especially the cymbal crashes. I take it they're panned hard left aswell, i wouldn't put them right out there without anything on the right side to balance, maybe sweep them 10 to 20 left.
It's tricky keeping things ticking over when there's no vocals, I'd be more inclined to play with the filters and so on with the synths to keep things moving and perhaps some other sound effects to add dynamism. If you're using loops try playing with a gate to add variance
I would also be tempted to up the volume a bit at the beginning of your drop, it goes a bit too quiet at 2 mins.

Re: New song up
Really nice comments guys, and yes I do like it when people come with feedback that I can actually use
Your absolutely right about the top end and the drop being too quiet. I was a bit worried about it, but it was so late when I uploaded the song, I thought "What the hell"
The only loop in the song are the hi-hats. Tried doing almost everything myself.
I did the vocals tonight and after some proper mixing, listening and mastering the song should finish up nicely
Thanks!
I'll upload the finished track probably Tuesday or Wednesday

Re: New song up
I don't know why, but the vocals sound too much like chipmunks. I can't get a feel for the vocals at all. =/
Re: New song up
It's because a guy sang the vocals, maybe if a woman did it, would sound/feel differentEmeralds wrote:I don't know why, but the vocals sound too much like chipmunks. I can't get a feel for the vocals at all. =/
I blame the chipmunks though!

Re: New song up
Liking the improvements to the synths, the sound is coming along nicely. Still think the cymbols are a bit harsh and the vocal seems somewhat out of place
