I want to destroy everyone at Native Instruments because...

Post by mholloway » Wed Feb 01, 2012 5:28 am

...they still haven't fixed their website so that it doesn't drop you back to the main page 8 out of 10 times that you click anything!!

seriously, seriously, seriously WTF...??? Trying to find an important serial number under registration pages and the last dozen attempts have simply dumped me back to the front page.

instead of screaming out loud I chose to post here. I'd go rant in their forum except I CAN'T GET TO IT.

thank you.

I thought NI had it sorted there for a second... now it just sends me to the german home page.

I suppose a change is meant to be as good as a rest? *shrug*

Yeah right, it's been that way for more than a year now. They should move away from Flash & redo the whole website, the way it's implemented is really extremely bad. The endless drop down menus within drop down menus are the worst. If you slightly move your pointer to the left or right, you loose the whole menu & back to the top again.

I don't see why they had to change it from the old website. The old website function, layout & appearance was like a hundred times better.

Even the way they got rid of the shop & embedded buy links in each items is kind of silly.

IMO they've gotten too big, and this is just an example of the kinds of loose ends that their products and company philosophy entail these days.
Massive amounts of features and products, great prices for the content you get, but the implementation falls short in sometimes annoying ways.

Beyond bumping you to their front page, their server is down about 1 out of every 4 times I try to reach the forums. :?

I want to destroy everyone at Native Instruments because...

...their products clutter my boot partition with presets, common files, shared content etc. which cannot be moved to another partition. :( Seriously, their file management is a total mess, at least on Windows PCs...

It's the same on OS X. NI stuff stores files everywhere. :x

To avoid drowning in clutter I utilize the magic of hidden folders. :x

destroy is such a strong word.

how about you glare at them menacingly?

you could raise one eyebrow for extra emphasis.

agreed. and not the same thing but relatedly, how about the happy fact that if you upgrade from Kontakt 4 to Kontakt 5 -- *which has no difference in sample library content except a separately downloaded vintage machines II file* -- you have to re-install every single multi-gig disc of the factory library, EVEN THOUGH ALL OF THAT CONTENT IS ALREADY ON YOUR SYSTEM.

genius, just pure genius.

exactly. I myself have been raising eyebows at them for weeks for not being consistent with their 'on the record segment' the fact that they started the segment said allot but the fact that they did not keep it going says even more!!!

Btw, our elevator news screen thingy had a short snippet about something including "blabla...bitwigs and...blablabla" like it was a term for an economic or political type of group but it switched before I could read the whole thing. I'm not seeing a definition for it.

Ok, maybe there's a chance it said bigwig and I saw it as bitwig, but has anyone heard it before?

it sounds like an admonishing finger pointing will need to be added STAT!

followed consecutively by:

disgruntled email
ranting post
crank calls
empty threats
more empty threats
heavy explosives
detonation
insanity plea
25 - life
Thorazine
appeal
