How is this made?

Post by maze23a » Sun Feb 12, 2012 8:33 am

In this track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mh8qBbs-7KQ
around 3:05 comes something that sounds a little bit like waves.
I heard similar things in other tracks also and guess it's made with white noise a filter and maybe
sidechaining.
Anyone knows exactly how to do this?
It's great track to listen to anyway!
Thanks in advance
Maze

White noise and sidechaining, as you said. Add some reverb and a bit of panning around to get this really swooshy wooshy wave feeling.

Hmm,i'm getting closer.
What do you mean with panning around?
Automating the pan or using the Autopan?
Like i said it starts sound quit the same but still missing a little bit of that wooshy effect!

band pass or low pass the white noise osc on analog. side chain it, send it to some reverb and delay. donezos.

You get more swooooish from low pass filtering with higher Q/resonance values.
