problem recording audio lately

Post by Mister Natural » Tue Mar 06, 2012 6:23 pm

tried a couple of things but really having trouble tracking my guitar here

getting this "cycling" nasty distortion with the CPU meter bouncing up to 147% and back down to ~ 15%. This only happens when recording audio, midi is flawless

AMD 940II quad - XP pro - LIVE 8.2.latest - M-Audio USB interface

any ideas ?

what do you have your buffer size at? setting a buffer size too low in any DAW will peg out the CPU.

thanks Scottie
last night, I adjusted the buffer to 256 & got the same result

here's what happens : I can track one time(at either buff setting) perfectly.
The second time I try to record an audio track; it distorts & the meter modulates

arghhh !
