Can anyone recommend some good Glitch Hop tracks/artists?
I've been asked to write some Trip Hop/Down Tempo/Glitch Hop. I want to listen to some reference material and while I have plenty of Trip Hop and Down Tempo tracks, i have no Glitch Hop.
Can anyone recommend some stuff I can listen to, to get an idea for the genre?

I'm not even sure what 'glitch hop' is, but going by the name I would look into Edison and then anything that comes up like it, maybe Flying Lotus?
There used to be a good station on iTunes called SOMA i think, the description was 'click hop radio' they played some really cool stuff sometimes.

I think the term glitch hop tends to be used for heavily edited instrumental hiphop, I'm not sure if Flying Lotus and Brainfeeder crew can really be described like that. It's sometimes called 'wonky hiphop' because of the use of unusual timing and groove. If you're after the more edited sound then you can't go wrong with Glitch Mob, Edit, Tipper and maybe Bassnectar (although I'm not a huge fan personally), if you're just after bass heavy instrumental hiphop tempo music then I would recommend Slugabed, Coco Bryce, Eprom, Baconhead, Robot Koch, Lazer Sword, Debruit, Halp and NastyNasty. There is a Robot Koch video interview on the Ableton home page which might be worth watching.

I have to say I'm loving Tipper. I haven't had a chance to listen to any other artists yet but if they are like him then I'm a definite Glitch Hop convert!
I listened to his "controlled bubbles" EP on YouTube last night and then spent the rest of the night banging out my own Glitch Hop track on Maschine. I'll hold my hands up and say its shit (but not bad for a first attempt) but its great when you discover a new genre that excites you like that.
I haven't felt this inspired since I first heard a Neurofunk track!

Not sure what I'd call this genre. One of it's kind. Definitely glitchy.
