Check out Surrounded or Relish The Trough too, better than his new stuff IMO.puzzlefactory wrote:I have to say I'm loving Tipper. I haven't had a chance to listen to any other artists yet but if they are like him then I'm a definite Glitch Hop convert!
Can anyone recommend some good Glitch Hop tracks/artists?

I've got to second Dabrye, although I'd recommend his Instrmntl album from 2002. Raw instrumental hip hop with an analog flavor doesn't get a lot better in my opinion.
This may be the most obvious artist to point to in a thread like this, but Prefuse 73 has done his fair share of twisted hip hop. I reached my saturation point with him a long time ago, and haven't followed his output closely in recent years, but his early stuff, Vocal Studies + Uprock Narratives and Extinguished Outtakes in particular, might be up your alley.

This might not be the right genre, but when I think of the phrase "Glitch Hop" I sort of think about Pretty Lights.
All of his music is available for download from his site (like 6 albums worth) and it's pretty good. I saw him live about 2 months ago, and I felt like the live show was much more "glitchy" than you get with his albums, but it's still there. I really dig his tracks, and like I said, he gives it away. If it's not what you seek, then ignore it
His site is at http://www.prettylightsmusic.com

I've posted this question on other forums and got pointed in the direction of this,
http://soundcloud.com/opiuo/opiuo-tripl ... nuary-2010
Now I don't know if this is "Glitch Hop" (as its a new genre to me at the moment) but it's pretty cool! Big fat funky beats with crunchy, wonky saw/square bass sounds and gated synths. I'm really loving it. Been listening to it on my iPod at work for days now.
