i.e. a MIDI clock can be sent when Live isn't actively "playing". Would be nice for some keyboards like the Akai MPK series which doesn't arpeggiate properly without Live playing, and some outboard samplers that similarly rely on Live playing to receive clock data.
Basically it would allow for easier noodling at a tempo, because imo playing can be a pain in the ass with a full arrangement view and I'd rather save the CPU and keep things idle that don't need to be heard.
