Voice/Audio to midi in real time?
Voice/Audio to midi in real time?
Hi,
Does anyone know of a solid way of converting Voice/Audio into midi in real time?
Like If I wanted to control a softsynth with my voice? Or play parts on a harmonica which converts the signal to midi to control a synth.
The only thing I have heard of is melodyne but I cant figure out how to work it with ableton in real time and process audio back to ableton.

This might interest you. It'll convert guitar/bass/voice/wind to midi.

I've been thinking about getting the bass guitar one but might invest in this newer one for both guitar and bass (and more).
I guess that the technology should be more up to date than the earlier cheaper models.
I can see using your voice to control a synth being SOOOOOO much fun!

That looks wicked. I wonder how accurate it is.
Re: Voice/Audio to midi in real time?
I have heard of a few of these plug-ins that try to convert audio to midi but I do not know how accurate they are. This guy at west la music said melodyne does it but it was way off with figuring out what notes were being played. and then I heard you can do it with Usine and that there is some type of patch but I havent been able to figure that out also.23kon wrote:This might interest you. -Also to the first guy that replyed, no this is not using a vocoder or using a talk box etc, this is me humming a note into a microphone and the software converting that note into midi and playing a note on a soft synth. I control the synth with my voice, not with my keys and voice like a vocoder. also I am not looking for vocoder voices, i am looking for flexability using midi based instruments.

The mouth isn't just vocod, there is a synth section that isn't a vocoder it lets you sing a bass synth line
