Com Truise Sound Tutorial

Post by milfhuntr » Mon Apr 02, 2012 4:45 pm

For fans of Com Truise or Retro 80's chillwave/synthwave, there is a great tutorial on achieving the Com Truise sound:

You are probably an expert, well schooled in making original, ground breaking music. But perhaps a viewer of the tutorial will take the sounds of the 707, many artists have used the TR-707, and they will make something new out of it. And they may use the Moog sounds to come up with something new also. But this gives them someplace to start.

I'm most definitely no expert, and I see your point for sure, and agree to some degree.
I guess I could have found a better way to say, you should try experimenting with sounds until you develop your own.

Love Com Truise!!!

Not that I want to sound like Com Truise but I like that TR707 drum kit. In the video he says the kit comes with Live but I don't see it anywhere where can I find that kit!?

Cool stuff, sounds good! I commend you for helping others and making tutorials!

I was hoping you'd be making the sounds purely with ableton instruments/sounds as that's what I own. I try and force myself to limit myself to the sounds that come with software - I own ableton and reason.... so it'd be interesting to try recreating it with only what I have.

Instruments/Drum Rack/Kick/Kick 707 (the same for the snare, etc.

But even if it is not in your copy of Ableton, the TR 707 samples are available http://machines.hyperreal.org/manufactu ... 7/samples/

I checked and don't have the TR-707 in Live...only the 808 and other samples. Am I missing the essential instruments in my version of Live?

I downloaded the 707 samples though and will build a kit of my own so thanks for that!? :)
