MIDI: Activating 1 button -> Deactivates ALL others

Post by Amebastudio » Thu Apr 05, 2012 11:32 am

So I use 8 buttons (Toggle On/Off) to control different Arpeggiators & Sidechain Gates.

Right now i can have all buttons ON at the same time but what I want is the option to while activating one button (Switch ON) all the other buttons are instantly deactivated (Switched OFF). In other words only 1 button of the total 8 can be active. Just like you see in normal transport controls (Play/Stop/FRW/REW).

BTW I'm using a "Novation SL 25 MKII" controller.

Thanks in advance!

1. Have all the buttons you want to use send the same CC.
2. Have them send different values. (IE..button 1 sends CC1 at Value10, botton 2 sends CC1 Value20)
3. Map them to the chain selector, and use the values the buttons are sending to map to the specific chains you want them to send.

So BUTTON1 sends CC1, Value0, thereby choosing the Chain mapped to 0. BUTTON2 sends CC1, Value1, Selecting the Chain mapped to 1, etc.
