Ultimate Ears by Logitech; Capital Rec Mastering: Seen this?
Have you seen these? Are you using them? Totally remove the variable of, "room," from your mixing, and even master properly. So... Are you using? Do you like? If you are not using, are you interested? Going to buy?

I don't think they are gimicky, I was just kidding with that poll. The only thing is, "logitech," in my mind, thats a cheapo brand, from their second rate computer speakers... lol. but I didn't realize they made all that in ear stuff, till I was looking at the capital records website last week.
If I picked up a pair of these things, I wouldn't exactly be throwing out studio monitors on the same day... I'm just saying, when you read the spec sheet on these things, very interesting...

OK I'll say it.
They're 5 times the price that anyone should ever pay for in ear headphones.
Headphones cannot ever replace good speakers for mixing and any person thinking they can is fooling themselves.
Anybody stupid enough to pay $999.... well at least Logitech will be making bank.

The standard for mixing with headphones are HD 600s or 650s. But I believe in the "don't mix with headphones" mantra. Why? Because for my first year of doing this stuff I only used heaphones and I notable damaged my hearing.
Re: Ultimate Ears by Logitech; Capital Rec Mastering: Seen this?
One thing that could be overlooked about the price is that they're custom molded. I have some musician's earplugs from the audiologist which were about $300 and that's without any drivers...just the custom molds & a pair of filters.
Not that I'll be picking up a pair of these anytime soon, just sayin'.

my question to the Op would be what is have you done research on the direct competitor of this product and if so what did you find out?

Anyone who thinks cyan on grey is a good combination for text should not be allowed to comment on mastering or any other matters relating to clarity. Good day to you sir.

If you buy high quality in-ear monitors for something else than live performance youre officially a moron.
