Sorry to disagree, but personally I think the track sounds really contrived.
Dubstep is going the way disco did in the early 80s. Everyone wants a slice. It’s getting embarrassing.

That is one of the most accurate statements I have read in quite a while.

thats my point exactly...not gonna hate on anything arbitrarily or blather because others are suddenly changing their minds...

Looking back a few years for a moment, here's that great white label from Matty G w/ Bob Marley and w/ Max Romeo and Prince Jazzbo on the flip.
Notice the absence of shrill-ass, mid-range horseshit. The current crop of dubstep kiddies seem not to have cottoned onto the fact that the rhythym and the bass can be the real killers without all the screaming plastic digital synth presets. Of course, that would require something other than earbuds or laptop speakers.

Never thought that Coki's "Tortured" track from 2006, or whichever was the first one of his that featured the aggro synths, would spawn what we're witnessing today.

Where did this idea originate that if you want to critique something you have to be able to do better yourself? If I go to a restaurant and the food sucks do I have to shut up and eat it because I can barely fry an egg? Or if my football team plays like utter shite I just have to nod and say 'Well, I can't complain, I only have one leg'?simmerdown wrote:if anyone talking sauce has a track (your own) with nearly the energy, production quality or originality, lets hear it

On topic ( ) - Think the track is ok, but not great myself. Mr Marley's stuff is cool and the dubby verses are good but the 'bassline' screechy shit is staid and unimaginative. It also annoys me that he's obviously thought 'Oh hey, I'm making a tune with a black dude, time to crack out that cliched 'Rude boy bass' sample, again.'.

06!??...but, 03 was so much better!! so much cooler! jeez
no need that the new excludes the old...i go back and listen to benga, chimpo, skream, all that 'oldschool' dubsteop all the time
this is like grandma railing against that 'new fangled rock n roll' devil music, get a grip
if you dont like something thats fine, the music itself, a all this industry shit, nostalgia for the past, blah blah
its a good song, and damian is no posuer...skrillex, idk, but the hype around seems far removed from the seemingly humble lil dude
