Live 8.3 Crashing

Post by sonoplex » Mon Apr 23, 2012 7:18 pm

Ok 8.3 is cool, I like the soundcloud thing, BUT...

I have had a strange amount of crashes since I installed the update. Particularly while using high octane VSTs like Native Instruments or Izotope. HELP!
Has anyone else had problems like this since the update?

Running on a:

Macbook Pro OS X 10.7.3
3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
8GB 1067 MHz DDR3

I have to say that I am getting more crashes now as well. I've had it crash from NI, u-he, pianoteq, Alchemy, all kinds of crashes, a lot of times swapping one instrument for another. Not inregular use, just loading different instruments.

I've had lots as well.

I'm tired of emailing back and forth with tech support so I've just decided to begin learning Presonus Studio One.

I get a reproducible crash with Fxpansion Geist. Geist 1.0.5.5 and 1.1.1.1. A few crash reports have been sent to the Ableton crash unit.

If you're experiencing crashes, please make sure to also get in touch with tech support, in addition to sending in crash reports - http://www.ableton.com/support

Thanks, and sorry for the frustration.

Crash Boom Bang- thats what this update has been giving me..... and i thought they addressed the issues to make it stable

the only stability about V8 has been its instability!

It is like that since 8.1 and then I already decided to switch to Studio One
for main production with VST's.
I need VST's and Studio One not only is stable as rock, it also uses half CPU then Live.

Live is only stable with none VST in it...(what is not useful at all)...

Live is still cool and I use it now only as ReWire.

Thanks David, these crash reports have been followed up with Ableton Support and have been assigned a Case Number.
