Ableton Live 8 and Kontakt 5

I've been to this forum, forums on NI and just other forums in general and have
never found one good answer for it, so I'm going to ask it here in the hopes that
someone says "You're an idiot. This is really easy, you just A to be then C".
I've had constant problems trying to set up one Kontakt instrument per channel
through routing, yet it never seems to work. If someone could also point me
to a definite answer to this question, I'd really appreciate it. I'm also
not interested in JBlong's video explanation either. I'm sure the guy is
very nice, but his voice is way too low to be understood in his videos and
I know he skipped a few steps. Thank you for your patience.

Is this what you're looking for:

1) Load Kontakt 5 (track #1) - let's say in this example the track title is "Kontakt 5".

2) In Kontakt add 2 instruments -> the midi-channel is, for example, set to [A]1 (instrument 1) and [A]2 (instr 2)

3) Add a midi track (track #2) and set the Output Type (under the In-Auto-Off Monitoring Buttons) to "Kontakt 5" and the output channel to "1-Kontakt 5" for the first instrument.

4) Add a second midi track (track #3) and do the same, execpt set the output channel to "2-Kontakt 5" for the second instrument.

5A) Now when you arm track #2, the first instrument is triggerd
5B) When you arm track #3, the second instrument is triggered

EDIT: Just wanted to add that if you mix Solger's tips with the info from that JBlongz video, you'll not only have the separate MIDI ins that you wanted, but you'll also be able to mix the Kontakt instruments' audio output separately in Live.

Ok, I tried that trick with setting up MIDI channels and there was no option for assigning out from Kontakt. I've heard that you can use the External Instrument for this and it would work. Is that true?

What OS are you using and which version of Kontakt (VST?)

I've heard that you can use the External Instrument for this and it would work. Is that true?

Use an External Instrument in a midi track and set, for instance, for triggering instrument 1 (similar to the output type in my example above)

Midi TO:
[ Kontakt 5 ] (or whatever name the midi track with Kontakt has in your project)
[ 1 - Kontakt 5 ]

I know you mentioned it before, but all you have to do is turn up the volume and Solger's post WAS the skipped steps. Together you have the complete answer to your question, seriously. (I was able to do it myself after seeing both.)

There's another video that ties it all together, but the audio really IS hard to understand since the guy has this looping background song that plays through the whole thing.
