Obviously I'm no Lalo Sciffrin, but what the hell. I just like writing those lumpy funky 7/8 drum parts.

Heh heh heh.

Actually there's no freezing on this despite being a pretty complex selection of tracks. There are about four instances of Kontakt to handle the harpsichords and other stuff, there's some Latin Percussion and two other drum tracks with session drums on... and four Reverberance IR reverbs ! Not to mention the three tracks of guitar rig, etc.

I think my CPU only hit around 25%, My new computer kicks ass!

I started this track on my old machine before Xmas and had to stop because that CPU was hitting 80%. I was pretty thrilled to see those low CPU numbers on the new machine.

it does have a lot going on, but it doesn't sound crowded at all. i don't know if you were going for "cop show" at first, but it does totally nail that (in a good way). i think of Cagney and Lacey, Starsky and Hutch, Shaft, Hawaii 50 all that. well done.

what kind of computer did you upgrade to?

It's a pc, so a real collection of parts. Asus p8 z68, an intel 2600k, 16 gig of silly fast corsair memory and an SSD & sata 600 drive combo running win7 64. I kept my fireface. It shames the old machine.

I really enjoy this sort of music, my plan is to release a fake OST album, with all the requisite car chase and love theme variants. It's a bit whimsical, but what the hell.

yes - everything is recorded and played by me. However, there's a lot of editing required to get my playing be pleasant enough to actually listen to!

The bass is played on my ancient (1970) Epiphone 5120-E which is a semi-acoustic, the guitar is a Parts-o-caster of my own devising through Guitar-rig, everything else is either Session Drums, Latin percussion, some Collision, some Tension, and a lot of Kontakt.
