No firewire port on the retina display version of the macbook pro.
Though not completely gone as the new regular display versions all have one.
No new Mac Pro and no new Mac Mini.

The new MBP seems to be a really nice upgrade from even the latest version.
Cant wait to see some performance tests posted.
I get excited thinking about 64bit Live 9 and 16 gigs of ram on an SSD drive lappy.

yeah the bump of drive space is exspensive. Yet ideally I would go for the 512 for all apps, get and external USB3 or Thunderbolt external.

Mac pro gets a slight update before they kill it off. No usb 3.0, no thunderbolt, no new graphics, just a slight bump in Cpu and some price reductions on choices. what a joke. They'd be better off killing if off like the 17 MBP than just letting it limp along.
New MBP have some good features. USB 3.0 is a welcomed update!, 16 gb of ram is another solid update. I could care less that they made it slightly smaller. There is no way that getting stuck with no upgradeable hard drives (flash not SSD) and RAM are a good things at ALL. Until folks have time to code for retina it will be like thunderbolt was of the first year+....a unless feature.
Don't really care about the Air, or IOS, mountain goat, etc
Looking at getting a MBP, but not this time

I thought wtf at first, but looking at how thin that thing is, if the cost of the firewire port is a $15 adaptor then so be it!Machinesworking wrote:No firewire port on the retina display version of the macbook pro.

it's apple, they will sell it 100$, the sell dvi to vga or dvi to hdmi for like 45$ and it's worth like 3$ at a parts store, so my gess is not below 100$ for thunderstruck to firewire

i like to go on top of the records to say that i today go to decide i am go to move on away from apple.
my future no feel secure each on everytime they go step on stage.
they go to move technology to fast all for the sake of in there pockets.
and they go to use BLIND PEOPLES to sell on there products which is low as joe goes.

I just got a refurb 2011 direct from apple today. I'm def gonna go with a 1tb in place of the cd drive, but i can't decide whether to upgrade the system drive to 7200 rpm or not.Muzik 4 Machines wrote:im getting the new old MBP with anti glare and will remove the cd upon arrival for another 1tb 7200 rpm drive
What are you planning to do with the system drive?
