Make Max API ADial work for transpose
Trying to use the Max API ADial to transpose parts but it doesn't work reliably as it's converting 0.00 - 1.00 into 1-128, you don't reliably get a semi-tone up for every 0.1 that you go up.
Can you suggest a way to alter the device to make it work better for semi-tone / octave transposition? (ADial is in the default Max library)

Just change the knob to output 1-128 (via Item Inspector), subtract 1 then divide the output of the knob by "127." (the period so the output is a floating number).
As you can see, I forgot to subtract 1 in my version.

For handling positive and negative values set knob range -128..128, steps 257, and then scale to 0..1.

Brilliant, thanks broc that was exactly what I needed! Here's my device so far - ugly as hell but basically working. If anyone has any tips on making it more elegant I would appreciate them.
