MIDI filter?

Post by Thalamus » Thu Mar 29, 2012 5:21 pm

Hi,

Is it possible to put a MIDI filter type plugin on any given MIDI input or channel?

I'm trying to filter out certain MIDI data (in this case an 'All Notes Off' message that is generated by my controller keyboard. I want to stop that from hitting the VSTi in my session.

There are plenty of MIDI filter plugins around but I can't see a way of using them in Live.

Some kind of global MIDI processor/filter would be very useful, it's certainly handy in Cubase.

I need a similar thing for blocking CC# 64 from the sustain pedal. So only the Kontakt piano gets it.

Racks can only filter notes and velocities, but not CC's or other MIDI messages. I am sure there is a Max for Live solution out there. http://maxforlive.com/

I've made a free vst you can download on this page : http://chemidistry.webs.com/tools.htm

Not tested in Live yet.
