Wrong.

His motivation was not forgiveness because he's the magical negro.

His motivation was to PRETEND to be the magical negro because he needs to get home and let his mates know that the revenge invasion is on...

This will be revealed in the sequel.

Promeefeus was... Ok.

I think the visual elements were pretty good. But the story left much to be desired (Yea yea, cerebral... whoopty doo, Go watch Blade Runner)

But I think that came from 0 character development. They had some opportunities but it was mostly filler.

I will say the impromtue surgery was the best part of that movie.

And no duct taping guns together... :(
Because Whatever.

I just don't get this.

The Ableton crowd often seems like an other-world culture to me. And speak as one from another world.

Hmm... Ermahgerd started on March 14, 2012 and is already part of Internet culture?

The whole 'origin' talk is full of words that I am not familiar with: Goosebump books, subreddit, quickmeme, plantlife.

This rate of cultural change is faster than the speed of light. It deserves movie treatment. Maybe that was why the Engineers had to kill us - they saw this coming.

Don't mind me, I'm an old fart. I used to use things like 'gopher' and 'finger' to get information before 'Mosaic' came out. I used 'lynx' running in 'mint' on an 'Atari' to surf the web before it was called 'web surfing'. I don't think 'gopher://' protocols are available anymore but you could 'telnet' to 'port 70' perhaps to find out. ('finger' does works on Microsoft systems, but I don't think '.plan' or '.project' is supported)

I'm not sold on the theory that Meredith Vickers is an android.

My take is that she is the daughter that should have been a son.
Her father created david as his only son, and so Meredith Vickers starts to become less emotional and more robotic to try and compensate and maybe win her father over. There is obvious animosity between her and david that i think is based on jealousy and there is also that scene where she tries to get some kind of affection out of her father just before they go off to visit the sleeping engineer.
But did she have sex with the captain?
