Live unlock + Re-enabling the network adapter

Post by Nokatus » Sat Jul 09, 2005 9:11 pm

I have a dual boot configuration on my laptop. One of the system partitions is an audio only environment in which I have disabled everything that I don't explicitly need for audio and music work, including the network adapter (for which I don't even have drivers installed on that partition.) My laptop installation of Live naturally resides on this partition.

Now I would very much like to give the Wormhole a try, and because of that, I suddenly have the need to enable the network adapter on my audio boot partition, too. Will enabling it in the XP Device Manager and installing its drivers cause my Live installation to ask for an extra unlock? If this is the case and I later decide to merely disable the adapter in the Device Manager, leaving the drivers intact, will Live continue to work as normal? Or is changing the network adapter status like this a bad idea?
