Hello
This problem might be isolated to the NI maschine itself, but here goes,
I'm running NI Maschine as a vst plugin inside ableton and I trigger scenes in maschine via program change on midi clips in ableton. It works, but not the way I was hoping it to work. The problem I have is that when I play different scenes in ableton that have clips in them that triggers maschine scenes, the patterns in maschine isn't retriggered, it just keeps on playing from the current position. I've got sync set to off and retrig enabled. So my question is, how can i get maschine to retrigger properly so that the patterns allways start from the first bar when I trigger scenes from ableton?

I am able to replicate what you are describing with VST and AU versions and multiple setting variations. I even tried using another clip to retrigger and no go. Have you tried running Machine as stand alone - syncing and sending messages over IAC bus?
Seems like an NI issue...?

Hi again!
Syncing with IAC Driver actually worked!!!!
It now retriggers rock solid, every single time. But...........there is one more thing tho. Running it as a vst allowed me to route sounds from maschine to it's own audio track in ableton. Is it possible to do this, still in stand alone mode? I tried to check the audio preferences in ableton to see if there was any outputs from machine that I could turn on but I couldn't find any.

You'd need to run it as a plugin to route audio that way. But it's easier just to drag and drop each scene directly from Maschine's interface or just export all scenes and drag those into Live.

Not true, you can use Sound Flower as the audio out in Maschine, and as your Audio in in Live. It's free, btw.
That said, I agree with delicioso, it might just be easier to do a MIDI drag and drop of the patterns in Maschine to Clips in Live (VST).
Cheers,

I desided to just drag and drop, its ok. The nice thing with triggering scenes, is that then I have one place for all my drum patterns and If I do some editing in maschine it's reflected back to ableton throughout the whole arrangement. It's very practical that way.
Maybe I've been too hang up on workflow
