/"Hybrid Clips" that would contain both Audio AND midi.so you can automate "all" from the clip. (not with dummy midi clips)
/"Ghost auto fades" that can be run on the fly.
/Floating "Master channel".That can be on top of everything and dragable around with a BIG timer in Hrs Min sec.
/Midi overall or channel editable snapshot (kind of clyph-x but native)
/Quadraphonic & 5.1 support AND routing to multiple outputs Busses AND aux. (matrix style)
/dB indications on the sends (where the hell is the nominated level ?)The possibilities to move return tracks and to put them inside a group.
/all plugin windows resizeable and with an assignable X/Y array.
/automation in session view and in the clip view exchangeable !
/original BPM as an indication next to the name in clip view.
/"zero crossing" as a grid in clip and session view and a shortcut for it !
/default automation = mixer level NOT speaker ON/OFF ! please !
/ the "midi pickup level of the controller" not in the bar all the way down but next to the parameter ! With color coding Green = joined level / Red above / Whatever yellow under.
/"fattening" the audiowave view independently from the gain of the clip.
/function "send clip to selection or playbar" from the start or the end of the clip.
/the midi "scale" plugin would paint the corresponding notes in the clips.
/synch external/internal assignable to a midi CC !
/view zoom matching on/off between clip and session
/floating dB indication (under the pointer or somewhere) when editing automation
/handles on sides of clip in session view that can stretch the view (thus the BPM) to match a selection.

This wish could make my day: Modifiers for Ableton Live's MIDI mapping so that you can map some sweet Shift buttons!

Would be nice if we could put an effect in the browser like a spectrum for when we scan through samples.

64 BIT
Customizable Key commands
Curved automation Nodes
TEMPLATES
Floatable windows (Or At LEAST the Midi window!)
"Export Groups Only" checkbox (or something like that...) in the export dialog.
Ability to Group something already grouped - (Maybe just call it a BUSS @_@)

I hate restrictions and I would hate a 5.1 restriction as much as i hate the limitation to stereo tracks we have at the moment. I want real multichannel support. Especially for Max4Live devices. Certain tricks I use all the time in Max/MSP for 8 or 12 speaker setups are simply impossible inside Live. Imagine a granular cloud distributed randomly to multiple speakers...
In short multichannel support (I don't need necessarily multichannel sound files, I need multichannel outputs...)
The second request is a vertical zoom for waveforms...
Stefan
+1 for multichannel...
Re: THE NEW BIG USER REQUESTS TOPIC FOR LIVE9!!!!
One more (little but usefull) :
A shortcut to be able to rack instantly plugins from a track, without opening browser. Select all...
A different Browser for "my own effects racks" classified by time rather than by name could be also usefull. Maybe a colored browser ???

A sample slicer in the vein of recycle but allows you to move slices around in an in built audio editor without changing the groove or slice length.
beats are there to be broken

Re: THE NEW BIG USER REQUESTS TOPIC FOR LIVE9!!!!
My two feature requests:
I would like a "quantization tollerance" for liver triggering of clips.
If for instance a clip has one eighth quantization, the clip will start on the next eigth note after it is triggered. This means clips must be triggered BEFORE the starting point (if you want to use quantization).
if you are a tiny bit late - even by just a few miliseconds, the clip will not trigger until the next eigth note.
I call my request a "quantization tollerance", because I would like to be able to define a tollerance level, for how late I can trigger a clip without it being delayed until the next eigth note.
For instance if the tollerance level was set to 40miliseconds, Live would start the clip immediately if it is triggered between 0 and 40 ms after the last eigth note.
Using MIDI clips as "Remote"
Currently you can assign MIDI from a MIDI input as a "Remote", e.g. to trigger clips, modulate parameters, etc.
Some times I would like to assign MIDI from a clip to something. Currently this is only possible if I route the MIDI out of Live and route it in again to a MIDI input. I would like to be able to do this inside Live.

CUDA core acceleration
64bit we may need 128bit by the time Live 9 comes out.
make use of all threads of a CPU.
A GUI like Studio One 2.
Ablity to use a midi controllers Sustain pedal with a chosen track not all tracks.
