Trouble Downloading Live 8.4 Beta

Anyone else had trouble downloading the Windows x64 8.4 Beta?

I downloaded the zip followed all prompts in setup application and when I tried to open Live 8.4 Beta a pop up read "this application has failed to start because it's side by side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command - line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

If someone could please help me with this that would be awesome.

Sounds like the download went fine, but the program is having issues starting after you've downloaded and installed it.

Give this a shot though - http://www.ableton.com/articles/sidebyside

I can confirm that the subinstaller will under circumstances not be executed correctly and that additional installation of the redistributeable package is needed if the runtime library isn't installed prior to the Live Beta.

For now a manual installation of the microsoft redistributeable as the knowledgebase article suggests will solve the problem.

[edit] We have this problem reproduced and I will lock this thread. Should new issue come up with the next beta versions please add additional threads explaining the problem.
