Ik Obi
Hi, I just wanted to take some time to explain whats up with the crazy IK ObiK imposter on the Abelton forums.
I have registered to try and reply, but am still waiting on activation, but that is NOT me. As soon as I get activation I will log in and post, contact a mod to verify IPs, correct things and apologize on behalf of IK. We take this very seriously and I was really thrown off by seeing someone mimic me. I know I pissed someone off to go to such lengths and I regret that it has made IK appear badly, even though it is in no way us.

Yes. It does not have a cynicism filter. That was on the pro model, which I couldn't afford.3dot... wrote:you have a sarcasm detector ? for reals ? does it do cynicism too ? how does it work ?Sibanger wrote:My sarcasm detector is going nuts....

think about it, you go on the internet claim to be an official of a company not to bad mouth the company but to talk about the strengths of the company with a slight hint that its all bullshit. excellent troll.
and then you post a link to whatever the fuck this is??
how is this not good comedy?

I actually feel really bad for you that you don't something better to do with your life than impersonate a rep of a music software company. yikes.IK OBIK wrote:If interested in LAYERING capabilities as mentioned earlier, Sonik Synth 2 is an instrument you might want to look at...

Re: New instruments
[my rant about this impostor removed lolz]
To the OP:
Search the web for free vsti and you whould find this site: http://www.vst4free.com/ and I have found some cool synth/ambient instruments there. Just as a precaution getting these free instruments (to everyone that is) is to scan for malware/viruses just to be safer.

Re: New instruments
i feel if the general consensus was that this is a joke most people would be saying that this guy is funny but since everyone is bent on saying he or she (but its most definitely a he ) is a troll (which he is) than every one calls him a troll. i find it to be clever.........glitchrock-buddha wrote:I actually feel really bad for you that you don't something better to do with your life than impersonate a rep of a music software company. yikes.IK OBIK wrote:If interested in LAYERING capabilities as mentioned earlier, Sonik Synth 2 is an instrument you might want to look at...

spamdude isn't funny anymore, just spamming again and again, stopped answering to us...
I'm sad
and my apologies to the OP for the thread hijack (but the question is a bit too vague IMO)
cheers

Re: New instruments
Nice one, thanks! I'll check them out!ShelLuser wrote:Trying to get things back ontopic again...barker3000 wrote:Just running the full 30 day trial at the moment, but i am looking for some new instruments to download (probably for free whilst I'm still trialling it and finding my feet).
Any ideas?
First of all I have to agree with some of the others here that the Suite instruments themselves provide lots of stuff to discover. From a massive sample library for Sampler/Simpler (the first also provides layering capabilities) right down to Operator & Analog (my 2 favourites).
Free stuff...
A very good source to look for this is the IMO invaluable resource when it comes to synthesis in general: Synthtopia. In your case you should check out their Free music software section. A wide variety of freely available software; usually also nicely indicating when something is really free (click & download) or when registration is required.
Amazingly enough you won't find much from our (IMO:) spamming friends in there.
To close my absolute personal favourite when it comes to freebies is the TAL collection. Check out the TAL website, specifically the products list (link).
From Synths (Elek7ro, Bassline or U-No-62) right down to effects like a vocoder, reverb, filter and noisemaker.
Highly recommended.
