Password Authentication (in 8.4b3)

Post by dkfusion » Tue Jul 24, 2012 9:50 am

I still get the password window "Ableton Live 8 Beta wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this." when starting 32bit after 64bit or vice versa. Doesn't matter if i enter it or not, Live loads fine, but will prompt me the next time i start it again. When having entered the password for the 64bit version it does not prompt me until i switch to 32bit, again, vice versa. I'm on OSX 10.7.3 using both latest versions of Ableton Live 8 Suite - 8.4b3 64bit (testing) & 8.3.3 32bit (production) on a MacBookPro8,3.

Hi DKfusion,

This will happen when you switch between the 8.3.3 and the 8.4 beta 3 since the rewire will reinitialize and make changes to your plists.

This will not happen when you switch between the 8.4 / 32 bit and the 8.4 64 bit. We fixed the bug in 8.4b3 for both 32 and 64 bit, so for the release this should not be an issue, but only for users running 8.3.3 and 8.4 in parallel.

Best,
Mads
