Keeping my library with new Ableton versions?

Here is a possible issue that I never considered before..

As like most of you, i am sure, i save alot of stuff into my ableton library. My own presets for Ableton instruments/FX etc Then that library i save into my own hard drive with the intention of building on it over the years

Now i just updated to 8.3 and upon starting up it did the whole "updating library" thing which led me on to thinking... if the 8.3 update, or any future update fixes or improves some of the instruments and then i use my own library, won't i be consequently downgrading some of my FX / Instruments?

Hope that makes sense, i found it quite hard putting it into words

Well this kind of answered itself... the new update, automatically found where i stored my own library and just updated what needed updating but kept everything else.

WOuldn't mind knowing more info on this, if there is any.
