Basic question about Session view

Post by Kilroy » Sat Aug 18, 2012 10:08 pm

How can I get Live to ignore tempo, quantization, and all that crap in session view. I just want it top play one audio file after another in a column. It's not music, it's narration; I just want the clips to play seamlessly. For each clip, I have set the follow action for next, I have set quantization for None. I don't want to tell it measures and tempos for the follow action; i just want it to play right away.

Well. It might be better to do this a different way. But of you want to do the follow action method, your best bet is to select all the clips. Type in the same tempo as the master tempo (assuming they're warped), then make sure the start and end points of each clip are at their full duration. Who Is a little meticulous :/. Lastly, you type the duration of each of these into each follow action. Select all the clips again. And choose 'next clip'. Sorry that there isn't an easier way.

Is this something you can do in Arrangement View??

Select all the clips in the track and deselect warp for them all. I think that takes care of it.

i'd make just one clip out of them all, if it's not a problem.

no warp is the way to go - then the tempo is effectivley ignored.

I've forgotten if follow actions are useable on unwarped tracks.

ok: "switch off warp" - better?

You try telling that to Captain Kirk.
