$5 if you can create me this sound in an Operator preset! :)
I have a synth sound using Hydra that I really like - see pic below. However, as much as I triy, I cannot replicate this in Operator! (I need it as an Operator preset for live purposes)
Anyone out there care to help me by making a preset for me?

It's really not that hard.
All you need is 2 oscillators playing sine waves in a 1:1 ratio.
Adjust the level of osc B till you get that vocalish sound.
Apply a low pass filter somewhere between 1 and 3 kHz.
Set the filter envelope decay quite low to get that initial click.
Maybe apply a pitch envelope too, with the same decay value.
And apply an LFO to the filter cutoff to get that wavey effect.
Remember to deactivate the LFO -> oscillator routings, they may be on by default.
You can apply a delay after the operator, group the 2 devices and save the instrument rack as a preset.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Or sample a couple notes and plop it in simpler. Bam.

Am too newbie-ish at Operator to understand it yet thoughFatherSonAndAlcohol wrote:It's really not that hard.

Sounds to me you're gonna be broke if you don't take the time to at least try, homie.

Try it, just for the sake of creation.......it's fun! (and don't forget to start with osc A, then B)

You know that little help window that tells you about whatever you mouse over? It's pretty useful!

What do you mean by 1:1 ratio in this instance? Sorry for the stupid questions!FatherSonAndAlcohol wrote:It's really not that hard.

i love how he offers five bucks and no one can be bothered to do it, and prefer to teach a man to fish anyway.

Fishing tips . 1:1 ratio means the coarse tuning dials on oscillators 1 and 2 are both on the same number. At least thats how I read it.

this makes a good case for Operator being good for a noob to start with, integrated help in the DAW.
if you're not failing you're not trying.
go forth and fail!
$5 wouldn't be worth my time to setup a paypal account. hand me a six pack of Belgiums, that's another story.

oddstep is correct. Set the coarse values on osc 1 and 2 to the same value. Basically leave them both on 1 and find your note on the piano roll. If I remember correctly, I got pretty close to your sound by setting osc 2's level to around -18 dB. Keep tweaking, it will come.lolalola wrote:What do you mean by 1:1 ratio in this instance?
