Oh lord god jesus christ no. That would be a nightmare. NI makes some innovative shit for real, but a lot of it is still a little half-baked.

While it's pretty clear to me that NI is moving closer to integrating all its products, I can't imagine that NI will want to inherit all the legacy stuff from Ableton.

He said it.... NI is buying Ableton... no real reason to keep it a secret anymore then.. it was too much to bear really...

Im predicting NI will buy Ableton and Live 9 will be released....

that is the way all big announcements are made these days, speculative random forum posts.... of course, genius guerilla marketing

I totally heart NI and Ableton, but I don't know that I want this either. I love this exclamation, planet. It would sound great in a Caribbean accent.

...and because Bitwig IS Ableton...
then they get 2 for the price of 1 !
basically NI is getting a beta and a never ending beta for the price of 1 (small) software company+fancy espresso machine and some midi controllers.
expect a "Upload to beatport" button... is all I'm saying

Nightmare. The worst music software company buying the best music software company!?

There's almost nothing that would make me walk away from Live at this point; Ableton being purchased by NI is an exception.

Terrible interfaces; a past littered with abandoned and half-developed products; terrible customer service; an installation and upgrade regime that's an unholy nightmare; bugs and more bugs; on an on.

I hope this is a sick joke.

says the guy that claims to know without a doubt that Live 9 isn't anywhere near ready and will be delayed a while longer.

what's up? :?

notice that was posted by what looks like a banned user.

maybe some German engineer came up with a way to make computers obsolete causing Ableton and Bitwig to work on DAWs that are installed directly into your brain. I hope I can upgrade my RAM in this new paradigm.

Maybe Gibson Guitars can buy Ableton and then discontinue Live, like they did with Oberheim 8O

 That's a funny thought...

maybe Fender should go for Apple to discontinue Logic and Yamaha could decide to drop Steinberg. Then we would be a big step closer to honest handmade guitar music again. 8)
