So its just new fx devices and updates to the current fx? No thanks I want some more core DAW features if anything else. I have more than enough fx.

This was a promo of changes to a few Live devices

Not a full-featured reveal of everything they've been working on

But feel free to take your ball and go home anyway

offended? I am just surprised in the years it has taken to develop Live 9 and all they came up with were updates to the fx. I would have loved to seen a new mixer, some additions to midi editing features maybe an update to the drum rack a new drum synth just a few ideas. The glue compressor looks useful but there are already tons of glue fx out there.

most likely 1 in a series of videos describing new features, changes, etc..

if you think the culmination of years of development is completely shown in a 6min video detailing some fx changes, i think you're out to lunch.

It was just a video for those FX. there is loads more to be revealed.

Incidentally, changes to EQ and compressor make a big difference to the sound quality

and Glue is v. cool.

Mad props for including The Glue. I've used that on every song in the past couple of years, and I think it's a fantastic bit of code. Congrats to Cytomic and Ableton for coming together on that.

Nobody's offended – it's just that your conclusion is funny: you see a short video showcasing a couple of device updates, and decide that's all they've been working on for three years, even though the video clearly shows that the UI has had a major overhaul.

You've seen nothing yet. (And, apparently, you've actually seen more than you were supposed to.)

We see this a lot "in the years it has taken to develop Live 9". Well, actually, I would think the integration with Max4Live took a SIGNIFICANT amount of "the years". It likely required lots and lots of messy work under the hood in live, even though it's not immediately apparent when you just compare Live8 pre M4L with Live8 with M4L.
Live + M4L, MacBookPro & Ultralite mk3. Plugins from Softube, Soundtoys, Eventide, 2CAudio, Cytomic, AudioDamage, OhmForce, FabFilter, SonicCharge, Waves, MadronaLabs, NI and ExpertSleepers. Oh, and a bunch of hardware... =D
