Traktor Pro & Beatport

Post by ze2be » Mon Oct 22, 2012 5:31 pm

Hey, I got a question for those who use Traktor with Beatport music!

I just got Traktor Pro with the X1 controller. I have purchased about 100 tracks (wav) from Beatport. But none of them includes the cower (each one has to be added manually), and the ID tags in Traktor are all messed up. Wheres tracks from the free service Ektoplazm (flac) get all the ID tags right, AND includes the cowers in Traktor automatically!

Is there any way to get it like that from Beatport?

Vote for FLAC from Beatport!

FLAC files are the same quality as WAV, but are much smaller and can include tags and album art.

Discover tracks on beatport and then go buy them on iTunes for half the price.

PRO TIP.

Absolutely. That's what I do.

And no...unless you're playing massive clubs or festival gigs, 256kbps will be perfectly fine in the sound quality department..

For the more underground tracks that arent on beatport use.. whatpeopleplay.com, it's cheaper than beatport and they are quite a good distributor and supporter of quality underground music.
but at lest your using wav's and paying for your music. :)

Thanks for the tips! I read just now that Juno Records has FLAC with proper taging and cower, and is cheaper then Beatport. Looks like it has about the same music as well. iTunes is an option I guess, but not having to convert files to FLAC + get cowers in one go sounds great.

What do you guys think of Juno?

And Bandcamp is another nice option to get FLAC tags and cower..

@William: I play more then often on Funktion One and the likes, so no mp3s.
