Tiny clicks & Glitches (unwanted)

Post by nemoy » Mon Oct 22, 2012 6:48 pm

Hey there

now here's what:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3zg_vFX7F8Q

Listen to those tiny little clicks & Glitches.
That's not, what i need when playing live...

CPU is usually around 30% with 50% peaks...
Buffer is set to 96. (Bigger buffers don't solve the Problem, i tried)

I also tried deleting everything that is reverb, deleting
unused samples in the drumracks, leaving away one effect after the other,
But these Clicks are basicly always there. no matter what i
Add, or leave away... also the remove stop buttons-thing didn't
make things better.
Not using any 3rd party plug-ins either.

This starts to really suck!
Any ideas on this?

Could be your soundcard. I have similar problems with my apogee ensemble, will work ok when restarting the mac.

However: this CAN also be a corrupt-project-problem... I've heard you can in that case send the project to ableton and they'll fix it for you.
Collab with Jeremy Blake of Red Means Recording:

Not the usual stuff.

I agree it might be the soundcard.

I have a komplete audio 6, and noticed some similar glitches (although yours sound more like vinyl pops, whereas mine sounded more like a cd skipping). For me the fix is turning my wifi off and on again. For some reason it works!

Try using a friend's soundcard or playing your sets from a different computer. Easy to isolate the problem that way.

freezing tracks is kind of totally missing the Idea of playing live music on stage...
It's session view only, and i need to record clips on every track...

Airport is always turned off, when on stage!
I know, that this can sometimes mess up audio...

Then there's the Soudcard, (Fireface 400) that usually works
fine and havent done shit like that before...
also, restarting doesn't help...

So, corrupt file you say? interesting...
I don't believe in ableton support.. :)
so Maybe i'll try to rebuild my entire 2 hours live set from scratch!

Thanks any way for the inputs!
