the MIDI from audio looks like something I would use a hell of a lot, I could just sing the synth solo and it would do all the hard work
the 'mutate the MIDI' looks like it could be useful, but less so for me

^ Yeah, no kidding!!!
I do that a lot - I whistle or hum my melody into an audio track, and painstakingly recreate it on a MIDI track. This could be a huge time-saver!

... and if that 'turn guitar chords into midi' works as well as it seems to on the video, I'll probably pass out through all the excitement!
what happens if you feed it some found sound - traffic noise, for example - and tell it to make a tune out of that? i think this could be huge fun

Also curved automation. Pants have been creamed... I have to wonder though. If I own live 8 suite... does the free upgrade apply to me?
Because Whatever.

Dream on. You'll see your upgrade price on the bottom of the "new in Ableton Live 9" page if you're logged in.Mint Invader wrote:Also curved automation. Pants have been creamed... I have to wonder though. If I own live 8 suite... does the free upgrade apply to me?

Omg I just discovered this and am about to cry. I've been making a bunch of custom racks with midi tools lately too.
I'll be stoked about the new midi tools as soon as I can get a clear picture. M4L in Suite just makes my drawers drop, howz that for midi tools. ;faosirfha;wcnvfna;wfjn!

Apple just called Ableton and congratulated them on their massive earth eclipsing balls.

That's definitely wrong - sorry for the mini-heart attack there. Make sure that you're logged in when looking at the shop page. Go through this link to be sure: https://www.ableton.com/en/login/?next=/shop/

Something is clearly not working right - I'm getting (Suite 8 to Suite 9). I actually found THAT to be slightly steep at first, but considering that M4L is included, I guess that's fair. Not too sure if making M4L mandatory with Suite, though.
