Please forgive me if this is a really silly or obvious one. But will Live 9 do track tempo automation?
What I mean is, will one be able to assign a different tempo to one track than to the master track?

U mean play two different tracks at different tempos?
Ableton detects and then you warp each tracks to determine its exact tempo, then whatever u choose as master tempo is the tempo at which that track will be played. UNLESS you unselect Warp for each track, in which case it will play the track as is.

I want to have the whole set play tempo x.... and then take the bpm of one track up and up and up while the rest chugs along unchanged.
I suppose I could do it by putting something in sampler and shortening the loop length\
