WOAH! That quote was just publicly volunteered from the top secret forum!

You should consider sending the rest of that forum to wikileaks prz :)

WTF? You were one of first people discussing the new features for Live 9.
Is already Live 9 videos on the web too.
Sorry mine English. Greets!
And Ableton asked me to stop, just passing on what I was told.

yeah I do. I have a long autohotkey script but there are a lot of nasty workarounds in it and a lot of things even can't be done this way.

Two things make me wonder what paranoia Ableton has been framed into by some legal advice, that makes no sense really, why is this damaging? why is it bad for your users new and prospective to read about new features?. :?

My advice and request to Ableton, please put every single changed feautre of Live from v8 to prospective Live v9, up on the forum to see, hell, publish it for feature articles. it dosen't matter that it may be changed slightly before release, everyone knows this is what is supposed to happen in a Beta, but from what I've read about some editing features it would really help justify the upgrade. this seems to be something that would have helped settle the cost of the upgrade iin other folks minds. Anyway kind regards and all that, looking forward to the future of Live v9.

Perhaps they are sick of the idiot chorus that accompanies every move they make. Perhaps they are concerned about bitwig leaching their ideas. Perhaps they don't want to commit to feature set untill it is solid. I can't think of a good reason to share... Apart from 'I'm interested'.

Some features and how they are implemented as still in flux, doesn't make sense to post about these and get people worked up if they might change before it's officially released.

dragging a sample from the browser onto a MIDI track that already contains an instrument, such as Operator.
This automatically knows that you want to convert audio to MIDI.
Little things like this make it awesome.

I'd love to be able to drag a sample back out from simpler or sampler onto an audio track:/

Click show in browser and drag in?
ctrl + left/right = select transient

ctrl + shift + left/right = select between transients

ctrl + space = play selection

Yeah but you know, not as straightforward. It's also about consistency.
You can drag and drop all sorts of other things, so why not that?

But these are items that are working inside a Beta, they aren't ideas, I'm making reference to items that have been changed and are being used 'Buggy or Not' in the Beta.

Surely that's not called getting hopes up? putting stuff into a Beta just to test ideas would not be good. I would use a close set of musicians in house at Ableton way before that to test out ideas..

Anyway, I'm not worried, it's just frustrating to think that, many of the minor changes infact may mean more than the bigger stuff to some folk like myself. the big stuff is cool and I look forward to it, but minor details, that have been leaked here on the forum, are actually pretty cool also.. :(

And thats the problem, even without anything to talk about, the forum is generating comment on how Ableton should do the beta testing better, this time with inhouse musicians. Why help generate negative publicity for a product by making commercially sensitive details public domain during a testing phase that could go on for months.
