NI Transient Master or SPL Transient Designer.

Post by v00d00ppl » Fri Nov 23, 2012 8:54 pm

Which is the most versatile transient plugin to use? I have this bad habit of making my drums dominate the mix too much and I need something that will blend hard hitting acoustic drums, 12 bits drum hits at low sample rates 15Khz.

I should make a decision soon since the black friday sales for both will end by the 26th.

can't you demo both?

I was thinking about the NI TM but I bought the vintage comps and the premium tube series so i should now hide my credit card far far away and stop shopping plugs for a while.

Voxengo has one too... 80 bucks. I haven't tried it yet but his stuff is usually excellent.

I'm confused native instruments sells both a glue compressor and transient designer separately. Are they the same?

Transient designers and SSL style bus compression emulators are completely different things

Does anyone really confuse these two?
That's frightening,

Does Transient Designer still require iLok? It doesn't specify iLok under system requirements but it says something in the pdf about installation. I'm wondering if they might have dropped it...

They are indeed different things. However "I need something that will blend hard hitting acoustic drums" could be addressed by The Glue for sure.
