I like that track! Had Spotify open at time of reading and thought I'd run a wee search and found this track and some other stuff of yours to check out. My "Longlist of Stuff to Check Before Buying" just had another album added to it.

Maybe I'm being naive but I didn't expect to find people posting on here who are on Spotify! Not that Spotify is the be all and end all mind you!!!

i don't even know what spotify is...well, almost.
Anyway thank you guys for the kind words and the advices. It's funny having his music on a huge thing like this. I mean i made music for films, for theatre, for dance shows which i am very proud of, but it never hit 2 million people
That's all good in the end. I like the video, and the event in itself.

Great music, as usual.

Now that you've got a successful Google campaign under your belt, you can seriously charge 100 times more next time around. Brands pay big bucks to use music like this. You should get what you're worth.

Thank you ! What do you want to know about it ? it's just a song from one of my albums released 2 or 3 years ago. Didn't do it in the purpose of advertising !
What i can tell you is also that they took the freedom to change some things. The reverberated part in the beginning has been made by them. As for a few edits. ( and it kinds of annoys me. It's well done but when you do stuff like this you should ask for permission. Not a big deal, though... )

Imagine they credited graphic designers on Coca-Cola bottles, or script writers on TV ads.

Being a musician isn't any more deserving of credit than anyone else when your art enters the corporate world.

Sure, the music is beautiful and plays an important part in that video, but Chapelier Fou, the video is not there to promote your brand.
Your music is there to promote their brand.

Most people on this forum would literally donate an organ to have Google in their client portfolio, let alone have their music exposed to 2 million people.
the fact is they are the ones who use someoone else work to promote their company (which acts like a moron if you ask me). I'm quite sure they gave very little money compared to the visibility of this ad. You should read this article on a related subject : http://pitchfork.com/features/articles/8993-the-cloud/

Yeah - nice one - but I do agree with Madlab to an extent - if it was a film you would expect to be credited.

But on an ad - no.

Totally agree. But, anyway, i've asked them if they could put it somewhere in the vid's description. How knows.
