APC40 Fader Problem

Post by Theo Void » Tue Jan 22, 2013 6:33 pm

Hi there. I've had my APC40 for a while. I've mapped the shit out of it and even used live w/ Traktor for awhile. I don't use it live anymore but I love using while producing for the auto-mapped macros and such. But there's a problem.
The channel 2 fader is causing the soft-ware fader(volume control) to jump around wiggle un-controllably. It's impossible to use it. I realize it's probably a hard-ware problem, maybe there's something stuck inside, idk.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so is it fixable?

Thanx

That happens me with one of my faders too (7 not that thats important) I put it down to gigging damage but I'd like it fixed as it fils up my undo. Also, now that I think of it, it only happens in my live show template which is built around Darren Cowleys Isotonik template.

Ya it sucks. I cant even use it. Mine is definitely a hard ware problem because the same thing happens in Traktor.

you can pay a ridiculous ammount for a replacement at mpcstuff or you can get one from mouser

It's not impossible but I would highly recommend a higher wattage soldering iron and some experience.

I had someone with both do it for me...

I find that the APC40 just tends to disintegrate over time once that starts happening to the volume faders. May as well ride it out to its death by remapping the bad fader(s) to some random nothing.

With that said...I hope im wrong and the replacement fader works out!
