3:54 - my mind asploded. it's guitar barre chords on a keypad.

I'd like to see a video on recording live instruments. I'd also like to see one where they launch longer samples, not just midi notes. less bleepy-bloopy stuff.

The first video was excellent - I'd argue it did more to sell Push than anything Ableton have put together. Certainly has me back on board and very interested. My Maschine is currently on a "shoogly peg" just now! I'm sure a few will be considering making the jump.

For Live Suite it looks like it will hold together very well. I nearly pulled the trigger on an APC40 as they are hitting some good prices just now but why would I bother when this does it all in my eyes.

Not sure how it will manage 3rd party stuff. I'm guessing poorly at first but I'd be amazed if it wasnt something added more completely in future versions much like NI did with Maschine.

My assumption for getting things loaded is 'anything with a rack is fair game'.

That applies at the bars too!

So anxious for this hands-on control.

Hands on control over the racks at the bars tonight? Nice.

Can't wait for this! Completely a new instrument to learn. Imagine getting really good at playing in pitch mode and not needing a normal keyboard controller anymore for intense playing.

Is it just me, or did anyone else notice in a few of the videos Dennis appears to have some difficulties with punching in/out of record mode. I'm not sure if it's just the unit he is using or if the buttons are particularly stiff or whatever... I hope it's not a problem that translates to all the units made by Akai in their first run...

“... it was just to make an average listener go: ‘What the fuck is this?’ That’s a real inspiration for me and something that I will explore more on upcoming recordings.”

Maschine die hards will be crying at Ellis bashing away there... The piano part was very impressive to me.

I understand why DND would have had a well rehearsed presentation of points to ring through and be fully familiar with but I was a little disappointed after watching half a dozen videos or so last night that all covered the same process. Would have been nice if it was mixed up a bit but his job is to do as smooth a pitch as possible I suppose.

indeed. fun to watch him discover the features and learn. he has buff fingers. 8O

can't help but to give a shout out for the scale plug-in already available in Live since version 3 IIRC, maybe earlier. I know you get repeated notes but it's there.

im sure this has been asked before, but anyone have an idea of the note mode will work with external hardware, eg. analogue synths, etc. as far as the concept (and videos go)...im pretty much sold. clearly ableton live 9 is all about this hardware, it completes the whole concept of the software...very clever stuff.
