I’d say you get the most bang for your buck if you go with the Ultimate version which makes it decidedly not cheap….also considering you can’t run any of it off the included HD, only to be used for install purposes. So you might as well factor in having to buy a larger drive to hold all the content Komplete has.

What do you mean ? It runs on a dedicated HD, contained in the box ?

Instead of install discs it comes on an external drive, but you can’t use that drive to house and access the content that takes up a lot of space. It’s only purpose is to install that massive content on your main drive, over 250G.

The thing is that Ultimate comes with a lot of their add-on packs for Kontakt and Reaktor, a lot of great stuff there. They sell them separately but just buying a couple of them separately could be the same cost as the bump in price for Ultimate.

It's from this website:UltimateOutsider wrote:This morning someone on another forum reported finding this on the web site of a music store in the Netherlands...chapelier fou wrote:Is it me or this is ridiculously cheap ??
http://www.bax-shop.nl/software-instrum ... tails.html
Doesn't say anything specific about what's included though.....
Re: NI Komplete 8
yep. Komplete has the best bang for buck value...chapelier fou wrote:Is it me or this is ridiculously cheap ??
Absynth, Reaktor and Kontakt alone would be enough to justify.. all the rest is extra imo
excellent extras...(FM8/Massive/Battery/GuitarRig + loads of samples)

If you are into doing wide ranges of styles, film/TV work etc then it is a fantastic investment. The different pianos and drum kits plus the instruments themselves is just HUGE. It does tax your HDD space but that is to be expected.
I own K8U and Omnisphere and Live 8 Suite and for me one of the great things is that if I have an idea for almost any tune or sound design I can put it together... The "issue" is finding this content when there is so much but this is where knowing the instruments does help. I would rather sink my cash in instruments than sequencer software since I can take an instrument to another sequencer if I want.
I initially looked at the standard Komplete but I really wanted/needed the Session Strings and NI know how to sell so they make you want just a few extras that are not in the standard version and make you upgrade.
Installation of the included aluminium HDD was very smooth but took about 3 hours then there was the need to download a number of updates via Service Centre and update the content but at the end of it all was running.
NI also sent me some standalone versions of their compressor plugins in Guitar Rig so you can use them on drums etc without loading up GR which I though was nice. I just need enough people to actually pay me for the work so I can make some of the money back.

Good, I've been waiting for 9 to come out. Don't want to bother with 8 so late in the game.UltimateOutsider wrote:This morning someone on another forum reported finding this on the web site of a music store in the Netherlands...chapelier fou wrote:Is it me or this is ridiculously cheap ??
It's a great package, personally I"m not interested in getting the Ultimate. Too much space for too little I would actually use.
Plus, it's a lot to take in all at once with regular Komplete. You can upgrade later.
I'm still on 6, but I'm curious to know if they gave Reaktor a real upgrade, and Battery is old as the hills at this point, not to mention Massive...

Re: NI Komplete 8
I picked up my upgrade to K8 for $115 I think last year and K7 upgrade same price the year before. They must be going to announce it very soon worldwide as their site isn't showing K9 yet. I'll wait for it to go on sale.

What kind of logic is telling you that a site not referencing anything at all must mean they are going to announce it soon?
Maybe I misunderstood.
