I used to say that trap was just a shitty version of hyphy... but after hearing that, trap is officially just shit. It doesn't even deserve to be in the same sentence as hyphy.

Some of it sounds pretty good in small doses. For a couple minutes. Depending on the artist.

I tell ya what tho that token ...ay...ay...ay...ay...ay...ay is worn out. Use it only at the climax of the set, kids.
I think I like it when it's more ghetto booty than some of the dubstep and trance anthem sounds.
I never liked trance anthem sounds.

Yeah it gets old pretty quickly. I could dig a track or 2 in a set but not for the whole time.

Thanks to this thread, I finally made the effort to see what trap is.

I've had mixed opinions on it myself. Somewhere between annoyance and mild enthusiasm. I believe my closest exposure to it was HudMo's TNGHT release.

I'm still a beginner for music haha. And I think the main things I've learned are that it features any kind of sample repeated at 8th note intervals, intermittent hi hat speeds, and minimal booms to make room for big hollow bass noises.

And bonus points if you make anything that sounds like a water droplet haha

Yep, I just clicked the link to see what the kids are on about. On my shitty PC speakers it sounds like some old Rotterdam hardcore stuff I use to be into when I was in highschool in the 90s.... Only without the hardcore beat (the slow "half speed dnb style beat... Oh, dubstep).

Repetitive and kind of uninspiring.

To the more educated in this genre, is this also where the term "crunking" comes from (or whatever it is). I can picture how people would try to move to that and it's more retarded than when DnB first hit the clubs when I use to go and watching everyone on E trying to keep pace was a damn good laugh.
