Automating and/or Randomizing midi channels...

Post by setzer_ » Mon Mar 04, 2013 7:22 pm

Hi, I am looking for a way to send midi data to multiple midi channels channels, chosen either randomly or automated....

Basically as an example, I have 16 synth patches receiving on channels 1-16 (in actuality this is an access virus), I have one midi track of notes, and I want each note to randomly chose a midi channel between 1-16. Or alternatively, one macro knob that I can control what midi channel the midi track is being sent to....

I don't see anyway to do this...

Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I suppose you could do something like that with an Instrument Rack filled with External Instrument devices on different channels, and a knob mapped to chain selector? I haven't really though this through but it seems like it's at least kind of in the right ballpark.
