Is there a way to delete Suite 8 Library?
Hi everyone,
After the gargantuan task of installing the lovely new Suite 9 library, I'd like to reclaim some badly needed disk space by deleting the Suite 8 library content. Is there a way of doing this without affecting the Suite 9 library? I'm on a Mac, Mountain Lion 10.8.2.
Thanks.

Nope, sorry.. Its stuck on your system...
Even if you get a new mac, it will re-install OTA...
The only way i know of deleting it is if you stick your mac into the freezer overnight... (Does not work with Snow leopard)
Good luck:)

Try spreading peanut butter in your internet vent.

Well, I've tried the peanut butter and freezing techniques, but Suite 8 is still there. Any other ideas?

You must have tried with creamy PB..
Try again with the crunchy kind...

back it up! also be aware that your old livesets might use samples from the live8 library, so they will have broken sample references when you open them after deleting the live8 library. that can be painful!

Thanks for the tip - I will definitely do this. Where abouts on the Mac would the Suite 8 library be? Is it kept separate from the Suite library for 9, or are they mixed together?pepezabala wrote:back it up! also be aware that your old livesets might use samples from the live8 library, so they will have broken sample references when you open them after deleting the live8 library. that can be painful!

Thanks everyone - that's really helpful. Deleting the Suite 8 library shouldn't make any difference as
a) I've collected all and saved my finished tracks and
b) I've been ruthless with my unfinished Suite 8 tracks and culled the lot of them as on reflection I realised they were all shite.
In contrast, Live 9 ensures every song I write will be a top notch chart killer. Watch out Simon Cowell - I'm coming for the Xmas number 1.
