Ever seen a soundcard with low latency without using ASIO?

Post by nc2010 » Sat Mar 23, 2013 6:11 pm

Hi,

For PC users : have you ever seen a soundcard with low latency in MME/DirectX mode in Ableton Live? (i.e. without using ASIO drivers / ASIO4ALL or similar things).

I've never seen such a soundcard!

Thanks

Why do you want to avoid ASIO?

I have no real reason ;)

I just want to know if it is possible nowadays (thanks to WDM or Win7 or Win8 audio management) to have low latency without using ASIO.

Does anybody know a soundcard, with a standard-driver (ie non-asio) able to propose low latency?

I'd like that.

I often produce while watching Youtube tutorials for inspiration, and this guarantees crashes on a regular basis (Live and/or ASIO is so sensitive when several sources use it).

Or I have my Foobar running - Live doesn't like that either.

From what I recall, the driver is called WaveRT, and the problem is that both the hardware and software has to support it... Sonar does.
