Feature Request: Utility EQ

Post by miekwave » Mon Mar 25, 2013 7:19 pm

I would like to apply seperate eq settings to a stereo width track on the middle/left/right channel on MS recording. This way I can apply phase cancelication to a specific range of frequencies as opposed to the whole waveform.

Just curious, how do you normally apply 'phase cancellation'?

Adjust the Width of two signals in a MS or XY pair and invert the phase of one of them while summing them to mono.

You know EQ8 can do MS processing, right?

Yes EQ8 is capable of basic MS, but it doesn't perform the specific function requested. The feature I am requesting is that utility tool has a built in 1 band eq on each of this splits - Left Channel EQ, Center EQ, Right Channel EQ OR Mid EQ, Side EQ - depending on the XY or MS configuration of the stereo source. This allows removing phase only from specific range of frequencies.

sounds like you want it to do what FabFilter ProQ does.

You can easily do it with a rack, split your channels, utility and eq for each...
