this is one of the best tips of 'em all - i've been learning shortcuts slowly and noticed that it speeds up workflow a LOT, even after learning the few most important ones.

i should really read the manual thru even i don't usually do that

i have em written down permanently on a big board in my class room..
and for all i now this speeds up the workflow and makes my student more confident with the program..I think the psycological + side effect of it is that, u feel more pro and secure in the program enviroment too

slightly related - but - someone once mentioned Bome's Midi translator to me - i was bitching about having to hit F12 everytime i was in a clip view to get back to the FX view. (in 4 my midi track select commands always brought up FX chain for selected channel, in 5, it doesnt - must hit f12 or shift tab to bring it up.)

so i am using this Bome's thing (google it lazy ass! j/k) and it RULES!

it simply, and VERY simply, converts midi message to any keystroke!

i use the BCR to Play live, and ideally,(liek the idea of Live) never use the keybaord/ mouse.

now ive got BCR buttons (only a few, filtered in plogue Bidule http://www.plogue.com and sent through a midi Yoke port) triggering whatever keystrokes i want!

ive got my F12 finally! its so badass - i toggle between FX and clip view with one button, on my BCR!

I got so excited, and even set up CTRL-M, so i can remotely enter midi learn mode!

But really its great for F12 and Tab...but it doesnt sequences of keystrokes, from one command, so u could Save, etc...

cheers from US

So does that run in the background when you're in Live? Do you have to open it up before live or is it like a once installed it works kind of thing? Sounds like a very handy tip!

Bome's is IT!
it has allowed me to do all the tiny things i wanted to, either cus i couldnt, or cus something changed from L4 to 5.

its like half at least of everything in "Feature Wishlist" can be done with this and/or plogue bidule....and Midi Yoke (windows).
